2017 GMC Acadia Redesign – The second generation of GMC Acadia finally revealed. GMC unveiled the new 2017 Acadia at the latest Detroit motor show. There are some changes to the new Acadia; the carmaker is willing to reach a wider scope of potential customer in the future.
2017 GMC Acadia New Design
Acadia is a SUV that’s been around since 2007. From the moment it’s introduced, no significant change ever be made. Last year, the Acadia got the best record of selling, where it reached nearly 100 thousand units. Following the success, GMC will surely maintain this achievement and trying to get more buyer. The new 2017 GMC Acadia is aimed to get the target.
The next Acadia gets new material composition; the use of high-strength steel lets the crossover to shed 700 pounds. Together with a more compact structure and new a cylinder engine, the new Acadia promises a better performance. Manoeuvering will be easier while the fuel will be more efficient.
2017 GMC Acadia Exterior
The 2017 Acadia size will be more compact than the previous model. The wheelbase is reduced by 6.4 inches, the car length gets shorter by 7.2 inches and the width loses 3.5 inches. Some car enthusiasts say that the size changing is an excellent move since the previous Acadia is too bulky to drive compared to other mid-size SUVs in the North American market.
The exterior maintains the conventional Acadia style with squared grille trimmed by chrome. Some Acadia trims like Denali and All Terrain will have more refinement, i.e. more chrome trimming in door handles, sides, and the lower part of rear fascia. Special wheels and chrome trim in black color are available too.
The roof rail will help you carrying additional cargo. Despite of smaller size, the thick squared fenders and all of the exterior aspects signify strength and reliability.
2017 GMC Acadia Interior
The cabin has a three-row seating where the third row seat is fully foldable. The seats have attractive trimming and the optionally available French stitched seat will give you more comfort.
As for technology, the new Acadia provides a 7 inch touchscreen equipped with IntelliLink. You can access 4G connection and WiFi hotspot from this car. Keyless open or start, USB ports, active towing system, etc. all you can have there. The new Acadia now features Android Auto and Apple Car Play.
The safety system comprises of Intellibeam, surround vision camera, side blind zone alert, pedestrian detection, parking assist and a lot more.

The new Acadia offers two engine types. First is a 2.5 L four cylinder engine that will produce 194 horsepower. Using FWD system, GMC claims its fuel economy will be 28/22 mpg highway/city.
The second engine is a directly injected 3.6 L V6, with 310 hp output. It’s able to tow up to 4,000 pounds. Both engines have a 6-speed automatic transmission that will send the power to the front-wheel or all-wheel drive system.
2017 GMC Acadia Price and Release Date
The new Acadia hits the market this spring. Pricing starts at $29,995 for Acadia SL and the topping price will be $45,845 for Acadia Denali.
